Description / Action:
Dolocarp 100 mg, Dolocarp 50 mg tablets contain carprofen as active ingredient. Carprofen works by inhibiting COX-2 enzyme and t limits the production of prostaglandins involved in the inflammation. Carprofen possesses anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.
Class: NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)
Indication / Uses:
Dolocarp100 mg, Dolocarp 50 mg tablets / Carprofen is indicated in the dogs to relieve pain & inflammation associated with:
– Orthopaedic problems
– Surgery
– Trauma
Dosage and administration:
4.4 mg/kg body weight
Dolocarp 50 mg: 1 tablet for 12 kg body weight once a day
Dolocarp 100 mg: 1 tablet for 23 kg body weight once a day.
It is for oral administration only.
For oral use in dogs only
Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Overdose may result into gastrointestinal signs after administration of carprofen like other NSAIDs. Stop the therapy and consult your veterinarian if this persists beyond 1 or 2 days.
Do not use NSAIDs like carprofen in combination with steroids.
No recommended for cats by the manufacturer.
