Carprofen 50/100 mg

Description / Action: 

CP-Ortho Tablets contain carprofen which is NSAID and works by blocking COX-2 enzyme preferentially (not selectively). It helps in limiting the production of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation.

Class: NSAID (Pain, Fever, Inflammation)

Indication / Uses:

– Approved by USFDA to manage pain & inflammations associated with Osteoarthiritis.
– Acute pain associated with soft tissue infections.
– Painful conditions associated with Trauma.

Dosage and administration / Directions for use:

The recommended dose of carprofen is 4.4 mg/kg body weight.

 Over-dosage / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Unlike other NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) carprofen may also cause side effects like GI Signs (ulceration, GI bleeding, malena etc). Do not use it in hypovolemic or dehydrated pets.

Safety / Pregnancy / Age:

Not indicated for use in pregnant animals and animals less than 6 weeks of age.
