Serratiopeptidase IP 6 mg
(As enteric coated granules)

Description / Action: 

HestaFlam Tablets are a combination of meloxicam and serratiopeptidase. Meloxicam is a NSAID and Serratipeptidase is anti-inflammatory enzyme. Meloxicam works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, specifically COX-2, which play a significant role in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins.

Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme derived from the bacterium Serratia marcescens. It aids in breaking down abnormal or damaged proteins at sites of inflammation, thereby reducing swelling and promoting faster healing. Additionally, it helps in dissolving blood clots and alleviating fluid retention in affected tissues.

Dosage and administration:

05-10 kg  ½ Tab. Twice daily.
10-20 kg 1 Tab. Twice daily.
20-30 kg 1 ½ Tab. Twice daily.
30-50 kg  2 Tab. Twice daily.

Apart from manufacturer guidelines, Meloxicam has a dose rate of 0.2 mg per kg on the first day and then 0.1 mg per kg for the following days with once-daily dosing limit. The dose can be adjusted as per the direction of the veterinarian.

Meloxicam has GI side effects and renal toxicity. Contraindicated with steroid administration. And washout period must be followed.

Store in a dry, cool and dark place.  For Veterinary use. Not for use in humans. Keep out of reach of children.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Should not be given to pregnant female dogs and pups less than 6 weeks of age.
