Description / Action:
Phexil Tablets contain cephalexin a first-generation cephalosporin. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, soft tissue/ skin, and urinary tract.
Pharmacodynamics:
Cephalexin acts by disrupting the growth of bacterial cell wall of gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria. It has a bactericidal effect. It is a Beta-lactam antibiotic within the class of first-generation cephalosporin. It is effective against bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Gram-negative bacteria including E. coli, Moraxella spp, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Proteus mirabilis.

Indication / Usage:
Phexil Tab is indicated to treat pyoderma and other bacterial skin infections in dogs and is used off-label or extra-label in cats. It is sometimes recommended to treat some urinary tract infections in cats and dogs.
Phexil Tab is indicated for skin, ear, soft tissue, and urinary tract infections as well as respiratory tract infections, such as bronchitis.
It is safe antibiotic used for the treatment of superficial pyoderma caused by Staphylococcus pseudointermedius. It suppresses the growth of microorganisms including bacteria, fungi or protozoa.
Dosage/ Administration:
The recommended dose is 22 mg/kg of body weight twice daily for 28 days.
Directions for Use:
Phexil Tab can be given with or without food. If your pet vomits or seems unwell after receiving the medication, try giving it with a small amount of food.

Overdosage / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
The most common side effects of cephalexin are diarrhea, vomiting, and loss of appetite.
Do not use cephalexin in pets that have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to cephalosporins. Use cautiously in pets with chronic kidney disease or kidney dysfunction; lower doses may be necessary.
Safety/ Pregnancy/ Age:
No specific caution is indicated for pregnancy and young animals. It is safe for Puppies and Pregnant Dogs.

Store at a temperature below 26°C. Keep all the medicine out of reach of children. Not for human use. For animal treatment only.
