Over-dosage / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Do not use in animals which are known to be hypersensitive to Penicillin’s and Cephalosporin’s. If you know that your pet is allergic to Penicillin’s or Cephalosporin, do not give Lixen Tablets. If you do not know (if the pet is allergic or not) ask the Vet before commencing the course of Lixen Tablets.

Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and gerbils should not be given this product.

During treatment, cats may experience transient episodes of soft faeces and vomiting.

When renal function is reduced, as with other antibiotics that are primarily eliminated through the kidneys, needless build-up may occur in the body. When there is a history of renal insufficiency, the dose should be lowered, and antimicrobials that are known to be nephrotoxic should not be given at the same time.

Because of the risk of cross-resistance, using the product contrary to the recommendations in this leaflet may increase the possibilities of bacterial resistance to Cephalexin and reduce the efficiency of therapy with other Cephalosporins and Penicillins.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions:

Store protected from light and moisture at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C.

Not for human use. For animal treatment only.

Like with all other Penicillin’s, Cephalosporins may cause sensitization (allergy) following injection, inhalation, ingestion or skin contact. Sensitivity to Penicillin’s may lead to cross-sensitivity to Cephalosporins and vice versa. Allergic reactions to these substances may occasionally be serious.

Do not handle this product if you are allergic or if you have been advised not to work with such preparations.

Handle the product with care to avoid exposure, taking all recommended precautions. Wash hands after use.

If you know that you are allergic to Penicillin’s or Cephalosporin’s don’t handle or touch Lixen Tablets. If signs of allergy appear, consult your doctor. If you develop allergic symptoms following exposure such as skin rash, you should seek medical advice. Swelling of face, lips or eyes or difficulty in breathing are more serious symptoms and require urgent medical attention.
