Bio-active and bio-inactive metabolites are excreted through urine and faeces.

Clindamycin Hydrochloride 25 mg

Clindamycin Hydrochloride 300 mg

All tablets are in meaty flavour and chewable form.
Each 1 ml of Bioclan Oral Solution contains
Clindamycin Hydrochloride equivalent to Clindamycin 25 mg

Indication / Uses:
Clindamycin tablets are indicated in dogs for
• Oral cavity and dental infections
• Infected wound and abscesses
• Superficial pyoderma associated with Staphylococcus intermedius.
• Treatment of osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus.
• Treatment of Toxoplasmosis in cats
Successful therapy involves the identification of pathogens before the initiation of the therapy.
Dosage and administration:
Strictly for oral administration in dogs and cats. Clindamycin dosage for dogs and cats are
Wounds and Abscesses, infected oral cavity and dental infections in dogs
@ 5.5 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours for 7-10 days or
@ 11 mg/kg body weight once daily for 7-10 days
In the case of dental procedures, therapy should be initiated before and should be continued for 5 days thereafter. Treatment can be extended up to 28 days according to the need and clinical judgment.
Superficial bacterial pyoderma
@ 5.5 mg/kg bodyweight every 12 hours
@ 11 mg/kg bodyweight once daily
Usually recommended for a duration of 21 days
Osteomyelitis treatment
@ 11 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours
Recommend for two weeks
Treatment of Toxoplasmosis in cats
@ 25 mg/kg bodyweight everyday (divided doses) for 7-10 days
Overdosage / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
In the case of overdose seek a veterinarian’s advice.
Common side effects of clindamycin in dogs are vomiting and diarrhoea.
Animals with a history or having liver or kidney issues should be monitored carefully during therapy.
Not to be used in rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas, horses, ruminants because may result into severe gastrointestinal disturbances.
Should not be used with chloramphenicol or macrolides because of antagonist action at site of action.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:
Safety for the use in breeding and pregnant animals have not been determined.
In case of prolonged use, periodic liver and kidney function tests along with blood counts should be performed.
