Ingredients & Composition:

Each ml contains

Active: Tobramycin 3 mg (0.3%)

Inactive: Boric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Sulphate, Tyloxapol, Sodium Hydroxide, and/ or Sulphuric acid to adjust pH (7.0 to 8.0) and water for injection

Preservative: Benzalkonium Chloride 0.1 mg (0.01%)

Description / Action: 

Opthocare Mono eye drop contains an advance aminoglycoside antibiotic Tobramycin which is used to treat or prevent eye infections in dogs and cats.

Tobramycin is more active than gentamicin against clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. A broad spectrum of antibacterial activity Active primarily against gram-negative and some gram-positive aerobic microorganisms. Tobramycin is an antibiotic used in dogs and cats that inhibits the bacterial growth and multiplication by suppressing the synthesis of protein. Through this mechanism, tobramycin kills bacteria rapidly.

Indication / Uses:

Opthocare Mono tobramycin eye drops is indicated for use in the following ophthalmic conditions in dogs and cats

• Cherry eye
• Eyelid Disease
• Dacryocystitis
• Secondary Infections
• Bacterial Conjunctivitis
• Viral/Allergic Conjunctivitis
• Red Eye
• Eye Discharge
• Eye boogers

Dosage and administration:

In mild to moderate inflammation 1-2 drops of medicament was given every 4 hours. In acute infection 2 drops every hour and after improvement 1-2 drops every 4 hours. Treatment is followed for 5 to 10 days.

Directions for use:

Shake the eye drops well just before each use. Wash your hands before using eye medication. Tilt your pet’s head back slightly and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Do give 1-2 drop 2-3 times as per severity of infection.

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Side effects like eye redness, eye discomfort, and Eyelid itching/Swelling may be observed in some pets. If irritation persists or increases discontinue the use and consult the veterinarian.

Use with caution in case of corneal ulceration.

Once the nozzle is pierced do not touch the nozzle tip as this may contaminate the suspension. Use the suspension within one month after opening the vial.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

Store at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) (see USP controlled room temperature). For topical ophthalmic use only.

Keep the container tightly closed. Protect from excessive heat.

Shake well before use. Not for human use. For veterinary use only.

Note: Bottle filled to ½ capacity for proper drop control. Keep out of reach of children.

No age specific restrictions. No warnings regarding use in pregnant/ breeding/ lactating animals.
