Description / Action: 

Enrosil Tablets contain enrofloxacin which is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used for the treatment of animals. It is a bactericidal antibiotic. Enrofloxacin’s bactericidal action is concentration-dependent, and it takes 20 to 30 minutes for cellular death of susceptible bacteria.

Pharmacodynamics:

Synthetic chemotherapeutic agent enrofloxacin is derived from quinolone derivatives. It has a broad spectrum of activity on Gram-positive, and Gram-negative bacteria. It enhances bacterial gyrase enzyme synthesis. It stops DNA supercoiling and suppresses DNA synthesis. It results in the termination of bacterial cell division and respiration.

Indication / Usage:

Enrosil Tab is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections of the Gastrointestinal tract and Respiratory tracts.

Enrofloxacin is Highly effective in the treatment of Respiratory, Urinary, Gastrointestinal and Skin Infections (pyoderma) in Dogs and Cats.

Dosage/ Administration:

Dogs and Cats 5mg/kg b. wt.

In Dogs, the dose can be up to 5-20 mg/kg body weight.
In Cats, it’s 5 mg/kg body weight only.

The dose should be recommended by the Veterinarian.

GI, respiratory, and urinary tract infections are treated for three to five days. The duration of resistant Skin infections and pyoderma treatment may take up to four weeks, or longer if prescribed by a veterinarian.

Overdosage / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

The most common side effects of enrofloxacin are gastrointestinal effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, and lack of appetite.

Enrofloxacin should not be used in pets that are allergic to it. It should be used with caution in pets with seizure disorders, or in pets with kidney or liver disease.

Safety/ Pregnancy/ Age:

It should not be given to dehydrated pets. It is not recommended for use in large-breed dogs that have not finished their rapid-growth phase or in small and medium-breed dogs under 8 months of age.

Keep in a cool dry place at room temperature. Keep away from children.
