Description / Action:
Cortavance is the cutaneous hydrocortisone spray for dogs and cats. Hydrocortisone aceponate is a di-ester of Hydrocortisone that makes all the difference. Lipophilic properties, affinity for the skin helps in rapid penetration in the skin. It has reservoir effect in the skin which helps in the storage in superficial dermis. Along with an initial parasiticide application or use, Cortavance spray rapidly improves the resolution of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) in dogs.

- Pyotraumatic dermatitis
- Flea allergic dermatitis (FAD)
- Contact allergy
- Lick dermatitis
- Perianal fistulae
- Pododermatitis
- Cutaneous lupus
- Pemphigus foliaceus
- Atopic dermatitis
- To control inflammation and pruritus
Dosage and administration:
2 pump spray per 10 cm x 10 cm of body surface area.
Keep 10 cm distance from the body surface while spraying.
(No massage required, cover eyes when spraying face).
Frequency: Once daily
Route: Topical / External – Directly on dog skin lesions
Species: For topical use Dogs, Cats, Exotic pets (Rabbits, ferrets), Horses
Duration: 7 days (Hydrocortisone aceponate spray is safe and effective up to 70 days in the management of canine atopic dermatitis)
Over-dosage / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Do not treat more than 1/3 of the pet’s total skin surface. Use of hydrocortisone is not recommended in case of severe lesions and pyoderma. Specific biotransformation in the skin provides enhanced efficacy without the side-effects associated with glucocorticosteroids.
Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions:
Store below 25°C in a dry place or at room temperature. Not for use in humans. Strictly for veterinary use. Keep reach out of the children.
Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:
Prolonged use of upto 70 days in study trials there was no abnormalities in haematological and biochemical parameters. Pre and post ACTH cortisol levels remains within normal range during the extended use of hydrocortisone. The immune system remains untouched & unthreatened.
Hydrocortisone aceponate has 60 time greater potency than Hydrocortisone yet none of the side-effects of typical corticosteroids.
