Ingredients & Composition:

Praziquantel                 50 mg
Pyrantel Embonate      143 mg
Oxantel Embonate       543 mg

Description / Action: 

Alfanil contains three active ingredients: Pyrantel embonate, Oxantel embonate ate and Praziquantel. Praziquantel is very effective in eradicating Tapeworms. Pyrantel is very effective in eradicating Hook Worms and Round Worms. Oxantel is very effective in eradicating Whipworms.

Pyrantel: It belongs to the group Tetrahydropyrimidines. Pyrantel is a broad spectrum nematodicidal drug. It paralyses the worm by depolarization of the neuromuscular junctions, and also inhibiting thechloenesterases. The recommended dosage is 15 mg/kg body weight, orally.
Oxantel: is an M-oxyphenol analogue of Pyrantel. It is very active against whipworms (Trichuris spp.). After oral administration, Oxantel Pamoate absorption is negligible and reaches in high concentration in large intestine.
Praziquantel: belongs to Prazinoisoquinoline group Praziquantel causes spastic paralysis of worms and kill them by damaging their tegument. The primary mechanism known is by increasing the cationic permeability into the parasite. Praziquantel is highly effectives against tapeworms and flukes of canines. The recommended dosage is 5 mg/kg body weight, orally.

Dosage/ Administration / Directions for Feeding:

One Tablet for 10 kg b.wt.

Puppies – Repeat Every 2 weeks until 3 months of age. Once in a month from 3 to 6 months of the age. Four times / year after 6 months of age.

Adults: Treat regularly considering potential exposure to parasites and pre-patent periods (4 times / Year).

Bitches: Once prior to mating, Once at Parturition and Once at 2 Weeks, then 4 Weeks after birth.

Newly Acquired Puppies or Dogs: immediately & repeat after 2 weeks. Follow guidelines above.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

Normal storage precautions can be followed. Keep reach out of children.

Side effects / Overdose / Contraindications:

Not indicated for cats. Can be used in breeding, pregnant and lactating bitches but consult your veterinarian before administration.
