Description / Action:
Ultrafix T Tablets contain tramadol hydrochloride which is a pain relief drug that acts on the brain to achieve its effects. It changes how pain is felt by binding “mu-opioid” receptors and inhibiting the reuptake of “serotonin” & “nor epinephrine” in the brain. Dogs who’ve had surgery can be given tramadol to reduce pain.
Tramadol Hydrochloride is a synthetic centrally-acting analgesic, Used for treating moderate to severe pain in dogs and cats. It may take up to 2 weeks for tramadol to reach its full analgesic effect. Tramadol-induced anti-nociception is only partially reversed by Naloxone.

Indication / Uses:
Ultrafix T Tablets are indicated in dogs and cats for
– Pain management in arthritis
– Pain in general (moderate to severe pain)
– Anxiety
– Canine degenerative myelopathy
– Coughing
Dosage and administration:
The recommended dosage for dog starts at 0.5 mg/lb (considered a very low amount) up to 1.8 mg/lb to be taken by mouth every 8 to 12 hours, but this can vary depending on the condition being treated.

For oral use in dogs and cats only.
Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Sedation can occur after the administration of high doses to dogs while it may result in dysphoria in cats. Contraindications and warnings have not been mentioned on the product label by the manufacturer. Ask your veterinarian in case of accidental overdosing.

Ans: Yes. Human tramadol preparation is also tramadol hydrochloride. But preparation in combination with paracetamol can be detrimental/lethal for cats.
