Renal disorder is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in dogs and cats. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is an irreversible and progressive degeneration of renal function.
Calcium carbonate: Proven phosphate binding agent that lowers the absorption of phosphates

Dogs | Cats | ||

Some other renal abnormality may be present without identifiable non-renal cause. (in cats not dogs) |

Clinical signs usually mild or absent. |
3 | 2.9-5 | 2.9-5 | Moderate renal azotemia.
Many extra renal signs may be present, but their extent and severity may vary. |
