Diarest – M Gel syrup contains aluminum hydroxide that helps in reducing the acidity in the digestive tract. Antacids increase the pH to a more basic level and reduce the acidity in the digestive tract. It is used to treat symptoms associated with heartburn, acid reflux, and peptic ulcers. Some antacids like aluminum hydroxide may be effective in pets with kidney failure (chronic kidney disease or CKD) to reduce the amount of phosphate in the blood.

Each 5 ml of Diarest – M Gel contains:
Dried Aluminum Hydroxide I.P 250 mg
Magnesium Hydroxide I.P 250 mg
Simethicone I.P 50 mg
Flavoured Syrup Base q.s.

Diarest – M Gel syrup contains aluminum hydroxide that helps in reducing the acidity in the digestive tract. How it works:
Acidity in your pet’s digestive tract increases when acetylcholine, histamine, and gastrin stimulate cells in the stomach wall to release hydrochloric acid.
Antacids reduces the stomach irritation caused by the acid by neutralizing the acid molecules and ultimately increasing the pH in your pet’s body.

Diarest M Gel is indicated / Recommended for treatment of
• Acid reflux,
• Peptic ulcers,
• Heartburn
• Aluminum hydroxide is known as gut phosphate binder and hence work in kidney failure,
Dosage:
Dosages are empirical.
5 – 10 ml (or @10-30 mg/kg) for 25 kg body weight.
Frequency: E
Every 6-8 hours
Administer orally. With or just after meals.
Only for cats and dogs
Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Dot not administer along with tetracycline antibiotics or fluoroquinolones. Over dosage related side effects are –
• Loose stools with magnesium compounds
• Constipation with aluminum or calcium compounds
• Lack of appetite.
Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions:
Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Shake well before use.

It is safe for use young and adult dogs, cats and kittens.
