Hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 6 gm
Sodium chloride IP 900 mg
Water for injection IP q.s.

Description / Action:
Hatcure Injection contains hydroxyethyl starch and normal saline for intravenous infusion in cats and dogs. It is a plasma expander and is indicated in dogs and cats for the treatment of shock, blood loss and hypovolemia.

Indication / Uses / Benefits:
It is a plasma volume substitute indicated for
– Treatment and prophylaxis of hypovolemia.
– Treatment of shock (Hypovolemic) due to blood loss in Haemoprotozoan Diseases.
– Treatment of shock (Hypovolemic) due to blood loss in gastroenteritis caused by Bacterial infections or viral infections (parvo virus gastroenteritis).
– To be used, as a Prophylactic measure, prior to major surgery to compensate blood loss and to restore oncotic pressure to normal.
Dosage & administration:
Small animals: 10-20 ml/kg body weight/day.
Administer by intravenous infusion only.
The daily dose and rate of infusion depend on the blood loss of the pet. It also depends on the maintenance or restoration of hemodynamics and on the hemodilution (dilution effect).
Hatcure injection can be administered repetitively over several days.
Initiate infusion slowly due to possible anaphylactic reactions.
Route:
Intravenous injection only
To be used with a non-pyrogen intravenous administration set with aseptic technique.
Caution:
Contamination can occur even if the bottle sustains undetectable damage during handling, storage, or shipping. Use only if the solution is clear and the container does not leak when squeezed. Do not use the solution if it containing visible solid particles.
Contraindications:
Do not administer in case of known hypersensitivity to hydroxyethyl starch.
Fluid overload e.g. pulmonary edema and congestive heart failure.
Non-hypovolemic renal failure with oliguria or anuria.
Patients receiving dialysis,
Severe hypernatremia or severe hyperchloremia.
Intracranial bleeding.

Store below 30°C. Protected from light. Do not freeze. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
