Toxo-mox 250 mg and Toxo-mox 500 mg tablets contain Amoxicillin/Amoxycillin and Clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin/Amoxycillin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the Amino-penicillin group. Clavulanic acid or clavulanate is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which protects amoxicillin from degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes and extends the activity of Amoxicillin. Toxo-Mox / Amoxicillin and potassium clavulanic acid is indicated in dogs and cats for respiratory tract infections, Enteritis, Gastric infections, Intestinal infections, Dental infections, Skin infections (wounds, dermatitis, cellulitis, abscesses), etc.

Description / Action:
Toxo-mox 250 mg and Toxo-mox 500 mg tablets contain Amoxicillin/Amoxycillin and Clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin/Amoxycillin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the Amino-penicillin group. Amoxicillin/Amoxycillin has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Amoxicillin binds to penicillin-binding proteins involved in bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid or clavulanate is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which protects amoxicillin from degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes and extends the activity of Amoxicillin.

Toxo-Mox / Amoxicillin and potassium clavulanic acid is indicated in dogs and cats for

Dosage and administration:
Toxo-mox (Amoxicillin / Amoxiclav) dosage for dogs / cats @12.5 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours (1 tab for 20 kg bodyweight twice daily)
Route: Oral – can be mixed with food. Tablets can be divided to adjust doses.
Species: Dogs and cats
Usually, 5 to 7 days period is sufficient but may need a longer course for some chronic problems. Treatment should not exceed more than 30 days.
Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Overdose can be monitored and treated symptomatically.
Dogs/ cats hypersensitive to penicillins may show an adverse reaction on administration. Do not use in pets having a known history of allergic reaction towards penicillins or amoxicillin.
Amoxicillin side effects in cats and dogs are nausea, vomiting, skin rashes and diarrhoea are the most common side effects. Avoid oral antibiotics in critically ill patients as absorption from the GI tract is not reliable in such patients.
Do not give or use along with bacteriostatic antibiotics like erythromycin, tetracyclines, etc. In case of missed dose don’t give a double dose. Always follow your vet’s instructions for the duration of the medication or treatment.

Store in a cool and dry place at room temperature or below 25°C. Keep out of reach of the children. Strictly for veterinary use.
