Terbinafine hydrochloride IP

Equivalent to Terbinafine             250 mg 0r 500 mg

Excipients                   q.s.

Description / Action: 

terboPET tablets contain terbinafine hydrochloride that is a broad-spectrum antifungal with faster onset of action. It is effective against yeast (Malassezia), and fungal infections (dermatophytosis) and well tolerated by cats and dogs.

It works by ergosterol synthesis inhibition (squalene epoxidase) resulting into defective fungal cell wall synthesis.

Class: Anti-fungal

Indication / Uses:

Terbinafine is indicated for the control and treatment of

• Malassezia dermatitis in dogs

• Dermatophytosis in cats and dogs

Features

• Broad spectrum activity against yeast and fungi

• Faster onset of action as compared to other antifungals

• Well tolerated in both, cats and dogs

Dosage and administration:

10 to 30 mg per kg of body weight once a day

or as directed by veterinarian.

Route: Oral administration only

Side Effects / Warnings / Contraindications:

Common side effects observed are vomiting, diarrhea and anorexia with increased liver enzymes.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Not recommended for use in breeding and pregnant animals.
