Description / Action:

Silvotin Tablets contain ivermectin – a broad spectrum ecto-endoparasiticide for dogs and cats. It is effective on mature and immature stages of common endoparasites, ticks, fleas, and mites.

Ivermectin is used on Dogs, Cats, Horses, Cattle, Sheep Pigs, and Poultry against internal and external parasites – worms, lice, fleas, mites, ticks, and flies. It’s a systemic and contact broad-spectrum ecto and endo-parasiticide.

Pharmacodynamics:

Ivermectin acts as an agonist of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the nerve cells and also binds to the glutamate-gated chloride channels in the nerve and muscle cells of parasites, thereby disrupting GABA-mediated central nervous system (CNS) neuro synaptic transmission. This causes paralysis and worms expelled out of the body or they starve. Ivermectin may also impair the normal intrauterine development of parasites and also affect the reproduction of some parasites by diminishing oviposition or inducing an abnormal oogenesis.
