Composition/ Ingredients:

Each Collar contains Propoxur 10% w/w & Flumethrin 2.25% w/w.

Description / Action: 

Kiltix Collar contains Propoxur 10% w/w & Flumethrin 2.25% w/w. It is used for the control of tick and flea infestation in dogs. It comes with antiparasitic, acaricidal, and insecticidal activity.

Indication / Uses / Benefits:

For the control of tick and flea infestation on dogs.

For the control of tick (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) and flea (Ctenocephalides canis/C. felis) infestation on dogs and for protection against re-infestation.

Dosage:

Medium Collar: Suitable for medium-sized dogs weighing up to 19 kg (Collar Weight 30.2 gm).
Large Collar: Suitable for large dogs weighing 20 kg & above (Collar Weight 45 gm).

Methods and duration of use:

Collar for fastening around the neck. Remove the collar from the sealed protective pack, unroll it, and remove the plastic strips from the inside of the collar. Give 2-3 jerks/stretches to the collar so as to open the micropores on the collar. Fix the collar loosely around the dog’s neck and thread the free end through the buckle. Check regularly that the collar is fitted correctly and comfortably. The collar must be worn at all times. It works continuously, regardless of whether the dog is moving around or resting.

In rare cases, attachment of ticks can occur while wearing the collar, but these only burrow into the skin and drop off after 3 days at the most, usually without sucking blood. The efficacy and the effective life of the collar are determined by the length, thickness, and condition of the coat and the parasite pressure. If the collar’s effectiveness diminishes, it may be necessary to replace it earlier. Dogs with a rough, matted, or greasy coat should be cleaned and shampooed before the collar is fitted in order to maximize its effectiveness. Remove the collar when the dog goes swimming or is bathed and replace it when the coat is dry. dry. Frequent contact with water (rain, swimming, bathing) can reduce the effectiveness of the Kiltix collar.

Duration of action:

Once fitted, the collar is effective against fleas and ticks for up to 7 months.

Adverse Reactions/ Contraindications:

Dogs with extensive skin lesions or wounds should be excluded from treatment.

Do not use it on convalescent or sick animals.

Do not use on animals undergoing treatment with any organophosphate-based products.

Do not allow animals to chew the collar. Seek veterinary advice if the collar is chewed.

Remove the collar immediately, should signs of skin irritation or other side effects occur.

Do Not Use on Cats.

Special precautions for use:

Avoid excessive contact with the collar during fitting. Wash hands thoroughly after handling the collar. Persons who are sensitive to the ingredients of the product should avoid contact with the collar.

Interactions with other medicinal products:

None known.

Warnings:

Animals wearing the “Kiltix collar for medium-size dogs and large-size dogs” should be kept away from young children and infants.

Side-effects:

In the first few days after fitting the collar, the dog may occasionally experience slight itching. If you notice any side-effect in your animal that is not mentioned in the package insert, please inform your veterinarian or pharmacist.

Information concerning the shelf-life of the medicinal product:

Do not use after the expiry date.

Special precautions for the disposal of unused products:

Discarded collars should be disposed of as special-category waste.

Keep away from food, drink, and animal feed. Use the collar immediately after opening the pack. The Kiltix collar is toxic to bees and fish. Keep away from children.
