Fiprofort plus spot-on comes with fipronil 9.8% w/v and (S)-methoprene 8.8% (11.8 % in cat preparations). Fipronil belongs to the phenylpyrazole group. It acts on the chloride channels and their ligands, especially GABA neurotransmitter. It causes the death of parasites. It kills fleas within 24 hours and ticks and lice within 48 hours of application.

Description / Action:
Fiprofort plus spot-on comes with fipronil 9.8% w/v and (S)-methoprene 8.8% (11.8 % in cat preparations). Fipronil belongs to the phenylpyrazole group. It acts on the chloride channels and their ligands, especially GABA neurotransmitter. It causes the death of parasites. It kills fleas within 24 hours and ticks and lice within 48 hours of application. It is effective on various species of ticks like Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes holocyclus, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Haemaphysalis flava, Haemaphysalis campanulata, Fleas (Ctenocephalides spp), biting lice (Trichodectes canis). (S)-methoprene is similar to juvenile hormone and inhibits the development of immature stages of insects. It causes impaired development and death of immature stages of fleas. (S)-methoprene also prevents the development of larvae and pupae of fleas.

Indication / Uses:
Efficacious against ticks, flea, and chewing lice infestations or control. Kills all stages of flea life in pets for at least one month. Helpful in the control and treatment of flea allergy dermatitis in dogs and cats. Controls paralysis of ticks up to 2 weeks. 3 application at monthly intervals is recommended for effective control and prevention in case of heavy and repeated infestation.

Frequency:
Fleas & Biting lice: Monthly application is recommended for all dogs along with treatment of the household at the same time. Treat all the dogs in the house for effective control and treatment.
Ticks: Fiprofort Plus provides control of paralysis ticks for up to 2 weeks but the use of this product does not guarantee the prevention of tick paralysis. Because ticks are not killed immediately after attachment. Two-weekly application in dogs is recommended. For brown dog ticks, a monthly application is recommended.
Application: Cut or break the top portion from the pipette along the scored line. Separate or part the hairs at the back of the dog, at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and apply at one or two spots by squeezing the pipette to empty its contents onto the skin. Take care of excessive wetting of hair during the treatment of dogs. Always watch dogs treated with the spot-on application until the application is dry and do not allow them to lick each other or rub against other animals. Should not be reapplied for 30 days. Follow your veterinarian’s advice.
Fiprofort plus application remains effective even after bathing, water immersion or exposure to sunlight.
Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Fiprofort Plus is not recommended in puppies and kittens less than 2 months (not less than 8 weeks). It shouldn’t be used in dogs weighing less than 2 kg and cats weighing less than 1 kg.
Local pruritus or alopecia may occur at the site of application. Avoid using in pets with a known history of hypersensitivity to insecticides or alcohol.
This product may cause irritation of mucus membranes, skin, and eyes in humans. Avoid direct contact with pipette contents and if accidentally happens wash hands with soap and water. Children should be kept away from dogs until the site of the application is dry.
Prefer applying Fiprofort Plus in the early evening and recently treated dogs should not be allowed to sleep with owners/children until the application site is dry.
It’s a flammable product. Keep away from heat and open flame.
The container should be disposed of properly. Hazardous for aquatic animals and throwing/ discarding in water sources may adversely affect aquatic organisms.
Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions:
Store in a cool, dry place below 30 degrees in the dark. Normal pharmaceutical precautions should be followed.
Strictly for topical or external application.
Prevent animals from licking and keep away from the source of heat/flame until it gets dry.
Don’t shampoo at least 2 days before and after the treatment with fiprofort spot on.
Don’t apply directly on the damaged skin.
Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:
Fiprfort plus spot-on should not be used in dogs and cats less than 8 weeks of age. It is safe for pregnant bitches / cats and has no withdrawal side effects. Fipronil spot-on should not be used in dogs and cats weighing less than 2 kg and 1 kg respectively.
