Finapet Tablets contain Finasteride for the management of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia in dogs. Finasteride, a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound. It is a specific inhibitor of steroid Type II 5alpha-reductase, an intracellular enzyme that converts the androgen testosterone into 5alpha-dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Prevalence of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) is 80% in dogs older than 6 years and 95% older than 9 years of age.

Anti-Androgenic Effects:
Finapet (Finasteride) inhibits the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) & reduces DHT levels, resolving symptoms associated with prostatic enlargement.
Prostate Size Reduction:
Finapet (finasteride) reduce the size of the prostate gland, which can contribute to the relief of clinical signs such as difficulty urinating or straining in BPH.
Symptom Improvement:
Finapet (finasteride) improve clinical signs associated with BPH, such as urinary incontinence or difficulty urination.
Clinically Proven:
Finasteride is an excellent medical treatment for (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) BPH.
Finasteride can be used to reduce prostatic size in dogs with BPH without adversely affecting semen quality or serum testosterone concentrations.

Indication / Uses:
Finasteride is indicated for treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) intact male dogs with an enlarged prostate to:
– Improve symptoms Reduce the risk of acute urinary retention.
Dosage and administration:
Recommended dose of Finasteride in dogs is 0.1-0.5 mg/kg OD or 5 mg orally once a day for 10-50 kg BW. Can be administered with or without meals or as directed by the veterinarian.
Over-dosage / Contraindications /Warnings:
Not recommended for use in developing dogs. Do not use in cats.
Side effects / Adverse Reactions:
Causes fetal anomalies.
