Description / Action: 

CYSTOCURE FORTE Tablets, Powder and Paste are feed supplement for the natural protection and well-being of the lower urinary tract of dogs and cats. Cystocure forte contains glucosamine that is able to contribute to the organic synthesis of GAGs and Cranberry pulp for the well-being of the lower urinary tract.

Urolithium is naturally coated by a layer of GAGs that protects against bacterial adhesion and contact with harmful substances present in the urine.

The loss of integrity of GAGs protective layer is at the origin of contact between sensitive nerve fibres and harmful constituents of urine. Glucosamine is able to contribute to the organic synthesis of GAGs, useful for maintaining urothelium integrity.

Glucosamine has the following benefits

1. Helps in synthesis of GAG (glucosamine glycan)
2. Helps in wound repair by its anti-inflammatory action
3. Regulates cell growth
4. Helps in cell proliferation
5. Promotes cell adhesion, strengthen cellular bond

The proanthocyanidins contained in Cranberry pulp (mainly PAC type A) are able to inhibit the adhesion capacity of pathogenic bacteria with fimbrias (e.g. Escherichia coli) to the uroepithelium, altering fimbrias shape and reducing the bond strength to epithelial receptors.

The PAC contained in cranberry pulp are also effective in Reducing biofilm formation by urinary pathogenic bacteria (E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and other pathogenic microorganisms (Candida albicans), making them more susceptible to normal antibiotic treatments.

Melofeed raw material from melon containing SOD (superoxide dismutase) is the first line of antioxidant defence. It prevents the formation of hydroxide ion and the beginning of the chain of radical reactions.

Green Tea Catechins (polyphenols) has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions.

Class: Urinary Supplement

Indication / Usage:

It is indicated in dogs and cats for

– Natural protection and wellbeing of lower urinary tract in dogs and cats
– Recurrent bacterial cystitis in dogs (E. coli approx. 50%)
– Gall stones in dogs
– Idiopathic cystitis in cats
– Gall stones, urethral plugs
– Bacterial cystitis in cats (> 10 years upto 50% (E. coli 50%)

Dosage/ Administration / Feeding Directions:

Instructions for Tablets:
Administer tablets directly into the mouth or mix with feed according to the following daily recommendations:
Initial Period: 1 tablet per 20 kg of body weight twice a day
Maintenance: 1 tablet per 20 kg of body weight once a day

Instructions for Powder:
Mix the Cystocure forte powder with moist feed according to the following daily recommendation:
1 scoop (0.5 gm) per 5 kg body weight.
In case if pet is on dry diet, moisten the kibbles or diet to allow a good stickiness of the powder and its complete intake.

Instructions for Paste:
For small breed dogs and cats.
Administer paste directly into the mouth or mix with feed according to the following daily recommendations:
1 ml/ 5 kg of body weight.
Administration should last 15 to 30 days. Cycles can be repeated several times.

CystoCure Forte preparations can be administered alone or in association to usual therapies and specific diets.

Cystocure Forte can be given to dogs and cats of any age, size and life condition.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

Minimum storage life means the period during which, under proper storage conditions the feed retains its properties. Keep the jar/bottle closed after use. Keep in a dry place. Protect from sunlight and heat sources before and after opening. Keep out of the reach of children. Not for human consumption.
