Ingredients & Composition:

Per dose of 1.0 ml reconstituted Canvac P vaccine contains attenuated strains of:

Canine Parvo virus attenuated 102.1 – 103.6 HAU

Vial with the solvent:

Excipients: water for injections 1 ml.

(HAU – hemagglutination units, i.e. according to the European pharmacopoeia requirements it is the antigen amount after inactivation, inducing level of hemagglutination-inhibitor antibodies in guinea-pigs serums)

Indication / Uses:

Canvac P is indicated for Active immunization of healthy puppies against

  • Canine parvovirus infection

Dosage and administration:

The immunization dose is 1 ml, irrespective of age, sex, and weight. A subcutaneous route of administration is recommended and best of all into an area behind the scapula.

When using the vaccine CANVAC R as a solvent, the use of this combination undergoes the same processes.

Vaccination Programme:

Primary vaccination can be done at the age of 6 to 8 weeks. The second dose should be given after 3 weeks after primary vaccination. It is recommended to administer a third dose of the vaccine 3 to 4 weeks after the second vaccination in puppies with specific colostral antibodies and to whom those who have received the second dose before reaching 12th week of age.

Re-vaccination:

Regular annual revaccination is advisable to maintain persistent immunity.

Onset and Duration of immunity: Sufficient immunity develops over 2 to 3 weeks after the primary vaccination. After re-vaccination, the immunity persists for at least 1 year.

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Do not use Canvac P vaccine during acute infectious disease, organ disease or feverish disease. Don’t use in the known history of an unfavourable post-vaccination reaction or allergy at former vaccinations and after stress imposed on animals (transportation, high environmental temperatures). Not recommended for use in bitches having advanced pregnancy or just given birth to puppies.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

The vaccine must be between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze.  For animals only. Veterinary medicinal product to be supplied only on veterinary prescription.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Safe for use in dogs from 6 weeks of age against parvovirosis.

Do not use in unvaccinated pregnant bitches in the advance stage of pregnancy and just after whelping/parturition.
