Description / Action:
Canglob DHLaPPi is liquid suspension containing purified hyperimmune immunoglobulins/antibodies (IgY) against infectious hepatitis, infectious laryngotracheitis of dogs, parvovirus of dogs, parainfluenza of dogs and canine distemper to ensure passive immunization of dogs, for therapeutic / treatment and prophylactic use. Disease/virus / pathogen-specific antibodies facilitate to prevent the development of disease or if they already run – to alleviate its course. Canglob DHLaPPi is used for the treatment and prophylaxis of dogs as well as the first choice in cases when a causative agent of the disease has not been explicitly detected.
Class: Biologicals / Dog immunoglobulins
Indication / Uses:
Canglob DHLaPPi is indicated for passive immunization (treatment and prophylaxis) against
- Infectious hepatitis
- Infectious laryngotracheitis
- Canine distemper
They are used to provide passive immunity in animals, for which active immunization is not suitable, mostly in weakened animals, before transfers and exposed to various other stress factors.
Dosage and administration:
0.4 ml/kg body weight (irrespective of breed, age, and sex).
Canglob DHLaPPi suspension/distemper virus antibodies should be administered intravenously / intramuscularly or subcutaneously.
Therapeutic dosage should be administered daily until improvement of the health status (it may be used in ill animals).
The preventive/prophylactic dose is 0.4 ml/kg of body weight given at 5-day intervals (it may be used in cases of an immediate endangerment by a disease).
The highest daily dose is 0.4 ml/kg of body weight, which may be used both for therapy and prophylaxis.
The length of therapy of the prophylactic protection and the route of administration should be assessed by a veterinarian.
Onset and Duration of immunity:
Dose 0.4 ml/kg of body weight stimulates passive immunity for a period of approximately 5 days.
Passive immunity develops in dependence on a route of administration. Its duration is dependent on the amount of the product administered as well as on the frequency of replications of the administration. On intravenous administration, an immediate onset of the passive immunity is recorded. But utilization of immunoglobulins is the highest. After intramuscular and subcutaneous administration, a slightly delayed onset of the passive immunity is recorded as well as immunity is lower as compared with the i.v. administration.
Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Do not use for prophylactic use in sensitized animals or on onset of allergic and anaphylactic reactions in cases of repeated utilization.
Active immunization against infectious agents contained in the product is recommended 7 days after the last administration.
