Inactivated parvovirus in low passage bound to adjuvant part is gradually released into organism, stimulates immune system and causes corresponding active immunity. Inactivated parvovirus is safe even for vaccination of pregnant female dogs in breedings with high risk of infection with parvovirus.

Ingredients & Composition:

Per dose of 1.0 ml Canvac P-In vaccine contains inactivated strains of:

Canine Parvo virus ≥ 128 HAU

Adjuvant: Aluminium hydroxide gel 2.5 – 4.5 mg

Excipients: thiomersal Not More Than 0.1 mg

(HAU – hemagglutination units, i.e. according to the European pharmacopoeia requirements it is the antigen amount after inactivation, inducing level of hemagglutination-inhibitor antibodies in guinea-pigs serums)

Inactivated parvovirus in low passage bound to adjuvant part is gradually released into organism, stimulates immune system and causes corresponding active immunity.

Unique technology allows achieving of a high degree of active immune response irrespective of level of maternal antibodies.

Inactivated parvovirus is safe even for vaccination of pregnant female dogs in breedings with high risk of infection with parvovirus.

Indication / Uses:

Canvac P-In is indicated for Active immunisation of healthy puppies against

  • Canine parvovirus infection

Dosage and administration:

The immunization dose is 1 ml, irrespective of age, sex and weight. Subcutaneous route of administration is recommended and best of all into an area behind the scapula. Don’t need to be reconstituted.

Vaccination Programme:

Primary vaccination can be done at the age of 6 to 8 weeks (particularly in case of an unfavourable infectious situation). Second dose should be given after 3 weeks after primary vaccination. Primary vaccinated puppies from immunized mothers are recommended to administrate third dose of the vaccine after 3 weeks after second vaccination.

  • Canvac P-In vaccine is particularly designed for repeated vaccination of the already immunized pregnant bitches at latest 2 weeks prior to expected whelping.  Antibodies produced are high in content and specific to the disease. These anitibodies are passed to youngsters and ensures passive immunity. .

Re-vaccination:

Regular annual revaccination is advisable to maintain the persistent immunity.

Onset and Duration of immunity: Sufficient immunity develops over 2 to 3 weeks after the primary vaccination. After re-vaccination, the immunity persists for at least 1 year. Intake of colostrums gives immunity which starts immediately after birth after intake of colostrums. This passive immunity lasts approximately for 2-4 months depending on the amount of colostrum received and the level of maternal immunity.

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Do not use Canvac P-In vaccine acute infectious disease, organ disease or feverish disease. Don’t use in known history of an unfavourable post vaccination reaction or allergy at former vaccinations and after stress imposed on animals (transportation, high environmental temperatures).

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

The vaccine must be between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze.  For animals only. Veterinary medicinal product to be supplied only on veterinary prescription.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Safe for use in dogs from 6 weeks of age against parvovirosis. The vaccine is especially designed for pregnant female dogs to ensure protection of their youngsters by specific colostral immunity against parvovirosis of dogs.

The vaccine is mainly intended for vaccination of pregnant female dogs 14 days before whelping to achieve high levels in colostrums and passive immunization of puppies. For vaccination of puppies already from early age at unfavourable disease situation.

Do not use in unvaccinated pregnant bitches in advance stage of pregnancy and just after whelping/parturition.
