Indication / Uses:
For the effective treatment of roundworm infestation in puppies and young dogs up to one year of age. Worm infections in puppies & young dogs caused by:
Ascarids Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonine
Hookworms Ancyclostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala
Whipworm Trichuris vulpis
Dosage and administration:
Dose: 1 ml / kg bodyweight
For a single oral administration 15 mg/kg body weight Febantel and 14.4 mg/kg Pyrantel Pamoate (corresponding to 5 mg/kg bodyweight of Pyrantel) equivalent to 1ml of suspension/kg body weight.
Through intrauterine and transmammary infection, ascarid infestation may occur in puppy at a very early age.
Therefore, it is recommended that treatment should be started at 2 weeks of age and should be performed repeatedly at suitable intervals (every two weeks) until weaning.
The product may be given directly to the animal or mixed with food. There are no dietary precautions are necessary or as directed by the Veterinarian. Should be given only under the vet’s prescription.
Frequency:
Every two weeks from 45 days till 3 months of age,
Every month from 3 to 6 months of age and
Every 3 months after the age of 6 months.
Overdosage / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Not recommended for puppies younger than 2 weeks and weighing less than 0.6 kg.
Do not use simultaneously with compounds containing Piperazine The anthelmintic effects of both Pyrantel (spastic paralysis) and piperazine (neuromuscular paralysis) may be antagonized when two drugs are used together.
In rare cases, mild vomiting and diarrhea may occur. Always use recommended doses and it has a wide margin of safety. In case of accidental overdosing immediately consult your veterinarian.
It is not suitable for all animals. Cats should not be medicated with Bandystar Pup dewormer.
Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions:
Store in a cool and dry place. Shake well before use and discard bottle carefully after use. Avoid spillage and wash hands after use. Once opened, the contents of the bottle should be used within 12 weeks.
Keep out of reach of children. Close the bottle tightly after each use.
Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:
Should not be used in puppies less than 2 weeks of age and weighing less than 0.6 kg. For use in dogs up to one year of age.
It is contraindicated in the case of pregnant and lactating bitches. It has no withdrawal side effects.
Doses of up to 5 times the therapeutic level of the product have been administered to puppies and young dogs without clinical signs of intolerance arising.
At 10 times the recommended dose the first sign of intolerance vomiting was evident
