Each vial contains
Doxycycline HCl
Eq. to Doxycycline 100 mg

Comes with 5 ml Sterile water for injection and 5 ml Ascorbic acid

Description / Action: 

Zedox Injection contains doxycycline hydrochloride. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic of the tetracycline class indicated in dogs and cats to treat bacterial infections. It is effective against both Gram Positive & Gram-Negative Bacteria.

Indication / Uses:

Indicated / Recommended in dogs and cats for treatment of

• Ehrlichiosis
• Leptospirosis
• Psittacosis
• Tickborne Diseases
• Mycoplasma
• Toxoplasmosis
• Lyme disease
• Anaplasmosis
• Rocky Mountain spotted fever
• Infections involving the genitals
• Urinary tract infections (UTI)

Dosage:

For dogs and cats
10 mg per kg body weight or
5 to 6 mg/kg twice a day for 6 weeks or as directed by the veterinarian.

For IV use only

Directions for use:

1-To prepare a solution containing 10mg/ml, the content of the vial should be reconstituted with 5ml of Sterile Water for Injection IP

2-Then the above solution is further diluted with 5ml Ascorbic Acid Injection IP included with the pack.

3-Each 100mg of Doxycycline (i.e. withdraw the entire solution from the 100mg vial) is further diluted to 100 to 1000 ml of the intravenous solution listed below:-

a. 0.9% sodium chloride Injection IP
b. 5% Dextrose Injection IP

This will result in desired concentrations of 0.1 to 1 mg/ml concentrations lower than 0.1mg/ml or higher than 1mg/ml are not recommended.

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Do not overdose. Always follow the recommended dosage.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

Store in a cool, dark, and dry place below 25° C. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.  Keep out of reach of children.

Retain in carton until time of use. Reconstituted solutions must be stored and used as prescribed in the pack insert. They must be used within the time periods as described. Protect the solution from direct sunlight during infusion.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Avoid using in young puppies and kittens. Not recommended in pregnant and lactating animals. Safe for use in cats.
