Ingredients & Composition:

Each tablet contains

Ketoconazole IP 200 mg

(scored flavoured tablets for easy and convenient dosing )

Description / Action: 

Petoral-K tablet contains ketoconazole for dogs. It is an antifungal which works by inhibiting fungal cell wall. It is recommended only during chronic or severe fungal infections like  Malasezzia dermatitis/Otitis, Dermatophytosis in concurrence with topical treatment.  It is effective against fungal infections of lymph nodes, skin, nails, respiratory system, bones and other body parts.

• Malassezia dermatitis
• Otitis
• Dermatophytosis
• Ringworm

Systemic infections

• Aspergillosis
• Histoplasmosis

Also effective in the treatment of Cushing’s Disease in dogs

Dosage and administration:

5-10 mg/kg bw once daily (duration depends on disease condition & response to medication)

To be administered along with food for maximal absorption.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

Store in a cool place/ at room temperature away from heat and light. Not for human use.

Safety / Contraindications / Side-Effects:

Overdosing may result in to side effects like dizziness, vomiting, loss of appetite etc. Serum liver enzymes level to be monitored during long-term or high-dose therapy.

Liver supplement (Tefroli forte) is recommended as a supportive. Concurrent use with immunosuppressant drugs like cyclosporine, steroids etc must be avoided.
