Moxidecton Injection

Moxidecton injection contains moxidectin as an active ingredient.  It is a broad-spectrum parasiticide effective on heartworm including both external and internal parasites. Moxidectin interacts with GABA and glutamate-gated channels like ivermectin which causes flaccid paralysis. Moxidectin is recommended for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal roundworms, hookworms, heartworms, lungworm, ticks, mites, mites, and lice (internal and external parasite). Moxidectin eliminates recurrent parasites efficiently and swiftly.

Ingredients & Composition:

Each 1 ml Moxidecton injection contains:

Moxidectin IP           10 mg

Benzyl Alcohol        40 mg (as preservative)

Class:  Antiparasiticide / Endectocide (Ectoparasiticide and endoparasiticide)

Description / Action: Moxidecton injection contains moxidectin as active ingredient.  It is a broad-spectrum parasiticide effective on heart worm including both external and internal parasites. Moxidectin interacts with GABA and glutamate gated channels like ivermectin which causes flaccid paralysis. Moxidectin is recommended for the treatment and control of gastro-intestinal round worms, hook worms, heart worms, lung worm, ticks, mites, mites and lice (internal and external parasite).

Moxidectin eliminates recurrent parasites efficiently and swiftly. Moxidecton is 100 times more lipophilic compared to Ivermectin. Kills resistant parasites (including Ivermectin resistant parasites). Moxidecton acts faster and lasts longer. Acts faster as compared to other endectocide: Tmax =2.5 hours T½ is 28 days which leads to prolonged protection.

It effectively controls parasitic vulnerabilities including: Anemia, Fragile skin, Rough coat, Stunned growth, Depressed immunity, Paralysis due to toxins, Reduced reproductive performance, Trnsmission of vector borne diseases.

Indications / Uses:

Moxidecton injection is indicated for control / treatment of

Endoparasites like

G.I. round worms (Haemonchus contortus, Trichuris spp, Strongyloides spp., Trichinella Spp., Baylisascaris procyonis, Toxocara canis, Toxocara leonine),

Hook worms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala),

Lung worms (Oslerus osleri, Capillaira aerophila, Filaroides hirthi),

Heart worms (microfilaria – Dirofilaria spp., Angiostrongylus vasorum)

Ectoparasites like

Lice (Heterodoxus spinger, Linognathus setosus, Trichodectes canis)

Mites (Demodex canis, Otodectes cynotis, Pneumonyssiodes cninum, Sarcoptes scabiei canis)

Ticks (Dermacentor reticulates, Dermcentor variabilis, Hermaphysalis spp., Haylom spp., Ixodes spp., Rhiphicephlus sanguineus, Otobius megnini)

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Transient pruritus and erythema may occur at the site of injection. Not recommended in dogs less than 7 weeks old and giving as heartworm preventative to a dog with heartworms stage 4 disease (Ref: Std textbooks). Not recommended for cats by the manufacturer.
