Povidone-Iodine IP         5% w/v

Purified water I.P.           Q.S.

Description / Action: 

Iopaint spray contains povidone iodine 5% solution which an iodophore antiseptic. It is effective against broad range of germs and microbes and both Gram positive and negative bacteria. It is a commonly used topical presurgical antiseptic.

Class: Antiseptic (iodophore)/ Wound Dressing

Indication / Uses:

• Preparation of skin for aseptic surgery.
• Disinfection of wounds.
• For dressing of cuts, burns, lacerations & abrasions.
• Post operative dressings.
• Minor tissue injury
• First aid

Directions for use:

• Do not dilute
• Apply full strength as often as needed
• Use as paint or wet soak.
• Bandaging of the lesion can be done once the solution becomes dry or wet as per the requirement.
• Clean the affected area and apply liberally to affected area 1 to 3 times daily or use as directed by your veterinarian.

Route: for topical application in dogs and cats

Over-dosage / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

It may be drying, irritating and staining on skin.  Accidental consumption may alter renal and thyroid dysfunction. It leaves a golden-brown colour once it becomes try.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Suitable for both dogs and cats. Safe for topical use in both pregnant and lactating female pets.

Store in a cool, dark and dry place. Shake well before each use. For external use only. Not for human use. For animal use only. It is alcohol and hydrogen peroxide free.

Povidone iodine comes in different concentration in gargle, scrub solutions, powder and ointments. Before substituting and diluting check the concentration.
