Description / Action:
Fiprofort spray comes with fipronil 0.25% w/v concentration in an alcohol base. Indication / Uses:
Ticks, flea and lice infestations or control. For effective treatment and prevention of all life stages of ectoparasites like ticks, fleas, and lice in Dogs and Cats. It helps in the prevention of acaral lick dermatitis, flea allergy dermatitis, and killing ticks responsible for tick fever.
Dosage and administration:
100 ml presentation: 200 pumps / pack (0.5 ml/pump) – 6 to12 pumps / kg
250 ml presentation: 250 pumps / pack (1 ml/pump) – 3 to 6 pumps/kg (e.g. for 30 kg – 90 pumps)
Short-haired animals (<1.5 cm)
– A minimum of 3 ml/kg body mass = 7.5 mg of active material kg/body mass.
Long-haired animals (>1.5 cm)
– A minimum of 6 ml/kg body mass = 15 mg of active material kg/body mass or as directed by Veterinarian
Put a pair of disposable gloves before application on your pet. Spray from a distance of 10-20 cm against the direction of hairs. Use comb or fingers and ruffle the animal’s coat while applying spray mist to its body. Allow animals to air dry; don’t towel dry. Should not be reapplied for 30 days. Follow your veterinarian’s advice.
It remains effective even after bathing, water immersion, or exposure to sunlight.
Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:
Fipronil spray can be used in puppies and kittens less than 2 months (not less than 6 weeks). It can be used in dogs weighing less than 2 kg and cats weighing less than 1 kg.
Safe for using in cats.
Local pruritus or alopecia may occur at the site of application.
Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions:
Store in a cool, dry place below 30 degrees in the dark. Normal pharmaceutical precautions should be followed.
Strictly for topical or external application.
Avoid spraying into eyes while spraying on the face.
Prevent animals from licking the spray and keep away from the source of heat until it gets dry.
Don’t shampoo at least 2 days before and after the treatment with fipronil.
Wear gloves during spraying and wash the hands properly after use.
Don’t spray directly on the damaged skin.
Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:
Can be used in dogs and cats less than 8 weeks of age, safe for pregnant bitches, and no withdrawal side effects. Fipronil spot-on should not be used in dogs and cats weighing less than 2 kg and 1 kg respectively. Fipronil spot-on should not be used in dogs and cats less than 8 weeks of age.
