(Each dose is a combination of one vial with lyophilized part D and one vial with liquid part P)

Ingredients & Composition:

Per dose of 1.0 ml reconstituted Canvac Junior vaccine contains:

Medicinal bottle with lyophilized part D:

Attenuated Canine distemper virus strain not less than 104.0 – 104.5 EID50.

(EID50 – 50% infectious dose for chicken embryos.)

Medicinal bottle with liquid part P:

Inactivated Parvovirus strain at an amount of 1024 – 2048 HAU.

Adjuvent: Aluminium hydroxide gel 2.0 – 2.5 mg

Part D is a lyophilized yellowish porous compact or fragmented substance. While part P is liquid pink substance with sediment easy to remove by shaking.

(HAU – hemagglutination units, i.e. according to the European pharmacopoeia requirements it is the antigen amount after inactivation, inducing level of hemagglutination-inhibitor antibodies in guinea-pigs serums)

Canvac Junior vaccine is designed for active immunization of dogs, especially pups, from the age of 6 weeks against distemper and canine parvovirosis.

The reconstituted vaccine contains attenuated distemper virus and inactivated virus of parvovirosis of dogs and is designed to ensure an active immunization of dogs, especially pups against distemper and parvovirosis.

Indication / Uses:

Canvac Junior is indicated for Active immunization of healthy puppies against

  • Canine parvovirus infection
  • Canine Distemper virus infection

Dosage and administration:

The immunization dose is 1 ml, irrespective of age, sex, and weight. A subcutaneous route of administration is recommended and best of all into an area behind the scapula.

Vaccination Programme:

Primary vaccination can be done at the age of 6 to 8 weeks. The second dose should be given after 2 to 3 weeks after the first vaccination. To minimize the undesirable impact of colostral immunity a third dose of the vaccine after 2 to 3 weeks after the second vaccination is recommended.

Re-vaccination:

Regular annual revaccination with other vaccines of the CANVAC series is advisable to maintain the persistent immunity.

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Do not use Canvac Junior vaccine during acute infectious disease, organ disease, or feverish disease. Don’t use in the known history of an unfavourable post-vaccination reaction or allergy at former vaccinations and after stress imposed on animals (transportation, high environmental temperatures).

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

The vaccine must be between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze.  For animals only. Veterinary medicinal product to be supplied only on veterinary prescription.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Safety for use in pregnant and lactating female dogs has not been stated. Safe for use in healthy puppies from 6 weeks of age.
