Each Marbomet tablet contains

Marbofloxacin          50 mg

Description / Action: 

Marbomet tablets contain the most advanced fluoroquinolone marbofloxacin. It is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic inhibiting bacterial DNA-gyrase. The bactericidal effect of marbofloxacin is concentration-dependent against Gram-negative bacteria. Fluoroquinolones are effective against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.

Indication / Uses:

Marbomet / Marbofloxacin tablet is indicated for/in

• Urinary tract infections
• Respiratory tract infections
• Soft-tissue infections
• Skin infections

Dosage and administration:

2 – 5 mg/kg body weight, administered orally once a day

Species: Dogs (For cats consult your veterinarian)

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Overdose related side effects have not been mentioned by the manufacturer. In case of accidental overdosing consult your veterinarian immediately. Nausea and vomiting are the most common adverse reactions. Cartilage abnormalities with fluoroquinolones have been reported. Do not use with ciclosporins.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

Store in a cool and dry place. Protect from light. Strictly for veterinary use.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Use in dogs less than 12 months of age and cats less than 16 weeks is not recommended. In giant-breeds of dogs should not be administered to less than 18 months. Safety regarding use in breeding and lactating animals has not been stated.
