Description / Action:
SAMePet L2 Injection contains L-Ornithine L-Aspartate for treatment of hyperammonemia and liver disorders in animals. Effective in hepatic encephalopathy and liver dysfunction.

Class: Hepatoprotective / Anti-hyperammonemia agent

Indication / Uses:

For the treatment of hyperammonemia as a result of acute and chronic liver diseases such as liver cirrhosis, fatty liver, hepatitis; especially for the treatment of incipient disturbances of consciousness (pre-coma) or neurological complications (hepatic encephalopathy).

Dosage and administration:

Dogs/ Cats: 1 ml/10 kg B.I.D, IV slow infusion only

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications / Warnings:

Contraindicated in Hypersensitivity to L-ornithine-L-aspartate or any other excipients of these products.
Severe renal insufficiency (Upto Veterinarian’s Discretion).

Side Effects:

Uncommon nausea and rare vomiting.

Special warnings and precautions:

Infusion Concentrate: Administration of high doses requires monitoring of serum and urinary urea levels. If liver function is substantially impaired, the infusion rate must be adjusted to the individual patient in order to prevent nausea and vomiting.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions:

Store in a cool, dry & dark place. Protect from direct sunlight.
Keep the medicine out of reach of children.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy / Withdrawal:

The administration in pregnancy and lactation should be avoided. If treatment is nevertheless thought to be necessary, the benefits and risks should be carefully assessed.
