Description / Action:

reFemate Tablets contain amino acid chelated elemental iron. Chelation keeps iron safe, increases absorption and bioavailability. It is an iron supplement for anaemic dogs and cats.

Chelation provides 3 important advantages.

Protects iron from reacting with food or gastric acid: Intra-gastric variations like change in pH levels do no affect of iron chelated iron. Consistent and predictable absorption of iron.

Makes iron more bio-absorbable: Unlike conventional iron, chelated iron is presented as “organic amino acid”. Higher absorption of iron to meet body needs even at lower doses.

Regulates iron absorption: Absorption of iron chelate is regulated based on iron requirement. Prevents iron over- load and toxicity making it safe.

Iron chelated with amino acids Aspartic acid and Glycine is shows aided absorption of iron into the enterocytes. It results in Increased expression of ferroportin, the channel that moves ferrous iron out of enterocytes into the blood stream.
