Ingredients & Composition:

Each ml of Opthocare eye drop contains

Cyclosporine Hydrochloride IP equivalent to cyclosporine             0.1% w/V
Benzalkonium Chloride IP            0.004% w/V
Sterile aqueous vehicle                                 q.s.

Description / Action: 

Opthocare eye drops contain cyclosporine which is an immunosuppressant. It helps in decreasing the immune response in the lacrimal gland and restoring production of aqueous layer. By Early Cyclosporine intervention Remarkable improvement in Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) can be seen and an early KCS detection helps vision protection. Mechanism of action of cyclosporine is based on t-lymphocyte inhibition.

Indication / Uses:

Opthocare – M eye drop is indicated in/ helpful in

• It controls the destruction of tear glands and normalizes homeostasis at the ocular surface
• Improves natural production and maintains viscosity of tear
• Reduces painful inflammation and preserves the ophthalmic degradations
• By Early Cyclosporine intervention Remarkable improvement in Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS)
• Chronic superficial keratoconjunctivitis or pannus
• Immune mediated keratoconjunctivitis secca

Dosage and administration:

KCS (keratoconjunctivitis secca) 1 to 2 drop twice a day

VKC (viral keratoconjunctivitis) 1 to 2 drop twice a day or as directed by the veterinarian.

Can be useful in immune responsive otitis media

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Immediate discomfort has been reported in dogs. It may increase risk of malignancy in susceptible patients or already having progressive malignant disorders. In the case of any adverse reaction, discontinue the treatment and consult the veterinarian.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions: 

Store in a cool and dry place below 30°C. Protect from heat, moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Safety for the use in young animals, breeding/ pregnant animals have not been mentioned by the manufacturer.
