Nobivac KC is a live freeze-dried vaccine containing live Bordetella bronchiseptica strain B-C2 and live Canine parainfluenza virus strain Cornell for active immunization of dogs resulting in prevention of upper respiratory disease kennel cough.

Canine Cough is a distressing disease. Kennel cough is easily transmitted between dogs via contact with other dogs such as during a walk, in boarding kennels or rescue centres. It can even spread in situations where dogs are just socialising, such as training classes, dog shows, or dog trial competitions.

The disease is caused by a number of different organisms and environmental influences. Bordetella bronchiseptica is generally considered the most important cause although several other organisms, including canine parainfluenza virus, can also be involved.

It is provided in single dose which has to be reconstituted immediately before use. The vaccine is normally administered by placing a few drops into the nose rather than by injection.

Class: Biologicals / Dog Vaccine

Indication / Uses:

Nobivac KC is indicated for Active immunisation of healthy dogs and puppies against

Does nobivac cover kennel cough?
Kennel cough is upper respiratory tract disease, a common and often distressing respiratory disease of dogs. Nobivac KC is helpful in protecting dogs from Kennel Cough. The vaccine is administered by placing a few drops into the nose. It gives immunity for one year after administration.

How long after kennel cough vaccine can you board?
Nobivac KC Vaccine claims to provide immunity in 72 hours after administration but Dogs who are vaccinated can unfortunately also pick up kennel cough and not display any symptoms of kennel cough for 10 days but be contagious to other dogs. So the vaccination has to be completed 14 days before your dogs first day for boarding.

Does my dog need kennel cough vaccine for kennels?
It is recommended to get your dog vaccinated against kennel cough each year. Most boarding kennels require dogs staying with them to be vaccinated against Kennel Cough, as the infection can spread very quickly in this environment.

Is kennel cough vaccine effective immediately?
Kennel cough vaccines are typically targeted against Bordetella bronchiseptica +/- canine parainfluenza, two important causes of kennel cough, but not the only causes. 2) No vaccine is 100% effective. It takes 72 hours after administration to produce immunity.

How often do dogs need kennel cough vaccine?
Kennel cough vaccines are effective when administered every year. Most of the kennel cough vaccines available in the market today (Injectable or nasal) provide annual protection.
