Presentation:

20 mg/mL flavored oral solution in a 15 mL bottle with oral dosing syringe.

Ingredients & Composition:

Each mL contains:
Capromorelin – 20 mg
Oral solution vehicle q.s.

Description / Action:

ELURA contains capromorelin, a selective ghrelin receptor agonist.
Stimulates appetite and food intake.
Increases release of growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1).
Promotes weight gain and improves body condition.
Supports nutritional management in cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Enhances lean body mass and overall caloric intake.

Indication / Uses:

Management of weight loss in cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Appetite stimulation in cats with reduced food intake.
Supportive nutritional therapy in CKD-associated weight loss.

Dosage and administration:

Administer ELURA at 2 mg/kg (0.9 mg/lb) body weight once daily.
Oral administration using the supplied dosing syringe.
Can be given directly into the mouth.
If fed regular meals, offer food approximately 30 minutes after administration.
If vomiting occurs within 15 minutes or only a partial dose is received, the dose may be re-administered.

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Common adverse effects: vomiting, hypersalivation, inappetence, behavior changes, lethargy, anemia, dehydration, diarrhea, urinary tract infection, hyperglycemia, hypercalcemia, ataxia, and skin lesions.
Contraindicated in cats with hypersensitivity to capromorelin.
Not for use in humans.
Use cautiously in cats with hepatic dysfunction.
Use with caution in cats with cardiac disease or severe dehydration.
May cause transient decreases in heart rate and blood pressure.
Evaluate liver function before administration.
Not evaluated in cats with current or historical diabetes mellitus.

Pharmaceutical precautions / Instructions:

Store at or below 30°C (86°F).
Keep bottle tightly closed.
Use only the supplied dosing syringe.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Veterinary prescription use only.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy / Withdrawal:

Safety not established in kittens younger than 5 months.
Not evaluated in breeding cats.
Safety not established during pregnancy or lactation.
No withdrawal period applicable for companion animals.
