Presentation: 

30 ml and 100 ml multiple dose glass vials.

Composition/ Ingredients:

Each ml of Catosal contains:
1-(n-Butylamino)-1-methylethylphosphonic acid (Butaphosphan) 100mg
Vitamin B12(Cyanocobalamin) IP 50 mcg
Methyl paraben IP (Preservative)       0.1% w/v
Water for injection IP                         q.s.

Description / Action: 

Catosal injection is a tonic / roborant containing butaphosphan and vitamin B12 for cattle, horse, sheep, goat, camel, pig dog, cat zoo animals & poultry.

Butaphosphan present in Catosal favourably influences almost all assimilatory processes of the body. Moreover, phosphorus in this form is eliminated soon after having exerted its stimulant action on metabolic processes. Cyanocobalamin promotes protein, carbohydrate, and fat metabolism, In addition, the formation of red blood cells is favourably influenced and growth is stimulated

Indication / Uses / Benefits:

Catosal injection may be used for cattle, horse, sheep, goat, camel, pig, dog, cat, poultry and zoo animals for stimulation of metabolism.

Acute diseases and acute metabolic disorders:

Palsy, lack of appetite, reduced milk yield, exhaustion for instance after difficult labour, reduced viability and diseases in new-borns, lumbago in horse and as an adjunct to calcium therapy.

Chronic diseases and chronic and general metabolic disorders:

    • Metabolic disturbances in cattle as a result of inadequate feeding conditions
    • Infertility
    • Secondary anaemia, anaemia due to parasitic infestations
    • Developmental disturbances in young animals due to rearing diseases
    • Overexertion, great weariness, nutritional disorders, emaciation
    • Conditions of weakness in small domestic animals (dogs, cats, etc.) due to mismanagement, e.g: indoor keeping


Treatment of healthy animals:

    • For increasing the physical power of working-animals, race horses
    • For boosting resistance against diseases
    • For promoting growth, particularly of pups and of young fur bearing animals


Poultry:

    • For boosting layer performance and improving shell quality
    • For improving body weight gain and FCR in broilers
    • For boosting resistance during stress period
    • Feather plucking and cannibalism in poultry
    • For shortening of moulting period in poultry


Dosage &
Administration:

Catosal may be administered intravenously, intramuscularly or subcutaneously as per the dosage as for all animals mentioned below:

Cattle, horse and camel               10.0 to 25.0 ml
Foal and calf                     5.0 to 12.0 ml
Sheep and goat               2.5 to 8.0 ml
Lamb                                 1.5 to 2.5 ml
Pig                                      2.5 to 10.0 ml
Dog                                    0.5 to 5.0 ml
Cat                                     0.5 to 2.5 ml

In poultry, dissolve Catosal in drinking water and give at a dose of 0.5-2.5 ml in Layers and Broilers and repeat for 4-5 days

Dosage for zoo animals depending on body mass or as directed by a veterinarian.

In other target animals, the treatment is given daily till recovery or as directed by a veterinarian.

Not for use in humans. For Animal Treatment Only. Store in dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
