Each film-coated bilayered tablet contains

Pregabalin IP     75 Mg
(as sustained release form)
Methyl cobalamin       1500 Mcg
Colour sunset yellow FCF

Description / Action: 

Pregamyl Forte Tablets contain pregabalin (GABA analogue) and methlycobalamin. This combination is effective in the management of epilepsy and neuropathic pain in pets with convenience of once daily dosing.

A fix dose of Pregabalin and Methyl cobalamin offers better efficacy than single molecule or Gabapentin. Pregabalin is structurally similar to gabapentin however delivers Higher Oral Bioavailability and also 3-10 times more potent. The overall reduction in mean pain visual analogue scale (VAS) score over 14 days was 72.3%. This reduction in VAS was significantly better than the first week.

Indication / Uses:

Pregabalin used for treating

• Canines and Felines with idiopathic epilepsy
• Effective medication to control seizures
• Helpful in peripheral sensitization
• Lowers pain stimuli threshold (controls neuropathic pain)
• Helps in muscle cramp
• Hip dysplasia.

Dosage and administration:

Dogs: 4 mg/kg body weight twice daily

Cats: 1-2 mg/kg body weight twice daily

or as directed by the veterinarian.

Overdoses / Side effects / Contraindications /Warnings:

Dose dependent sedation and ataxia may be seen in some cases.
Use with caution in dogs and cats suffering with renal disease as it is mainly excreted through kidneys.
Commonly observed and reported side effects are giddiness, sedation, ataxia, drowsiness and nausea.

Store protected from light and moisture, at temperature not exceeding 30 degrees centigrade. Keep the medicine out of reach of children. Not for human use. For animal treatment only.

Schedule H drug caution: Not to be sold in retail without prescription of a registered veterinary practitioner.

Safety: Age / Pregnancy/ Withdrawal:

Do not use in pregnant animals.

Habit forming: 

Do not discontinue suddenly. Gradual dose reduction before discontinuation is advised to prevent withdrawal side effects.
